Red Ribbon Week, which is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign, is right around the corner (October 23-31) and EVERFI has a few digital resources that you can use during the week. Today, millions of people celebrate; we encourage you to join them!
- Prescription Drug Safety is a 45 minute program, 1:1 for students, that covers the “science of addiction.” The program also contains a video that addresses the risks of vaping and provides students with refusal strategies and real-life practice scenarios.
- Alcohol Edu is a 1.5 hour program,1:1 for students) that covers how parts of the brain and body are affected by alcohol use. The program provides students with techniques for approaching difficult alcohol-related conversations
The Drug Safety Network funds these resources, so they are free to use. Additionally, here is a toolkit that showcases some effective lessons! To get started, you can login to your EVERFI account (or register for account here) and create a Red Ribbon Week course code to give to students. If you have any questions, please reach out to Caitlin Gayles (firstname.lastname@example.org), the local implementation support in Denver.
