Get Ready to Grill and Chill at Southwest Denver’s 2013 Safe Summer Kickoff

The spring snows have (hopefully) stopped falling, the sun is out, and the delicious smells of burgers, dogs, steaks and veggies on the grill are floating through Denver neighborhoods all over the city. You know what that means: it’s time for free music, food and fun with d-RAP, the Gang Reduction Initiative of Denver and more than 50 private and public community organizations dedicated to making 2013 the safest, most fun summer ever, while working with you and your neighbors to strengthen our families and community.

The event is totally free and everyone is welcome.

Kepner Middle School

911 S. Hazel Ct. Denver, CO. 80219

June 1st from 11AM to 3PM

This summer’s Kickoff includes

  • A comprehensive Resource Fair representing more than 30 community organizations
  • A barbecue lunch
  • Balloon animals
  • A DJ spinning summer jams
  • The Denver Nuggets Cheerleaders

Plus you’ll be able to meet with and talk to representatives from community organizations, City government officials, and of course your very own friends and neighbors. Bilingual staff will be available to answer your questions about where to get affordable health care, how to get assistance from the police or fire departments, Parks and Recreation schedules, and any other questions you have.
